Muleshoe, Texas is located in the north western Panhandle Plains region. The heart of the city conveniently lies at the intersection of US Highway 84 and State Highway 214, and crossed by US Highway 70. Muleshoe is the only incorporated city in Bailey County making it the county seat. The rich soil of Bailey County rises above the Texas average National Commodity Crop Productivity Index at 29 NCCPI. 90% of the land in the county is in agricultural use. The city was incorporated in 1926 and was named after one of the very first ranches of the area, the Muleshoe Ranch.
